The Evans trio recorded the tune on a single occasion, live at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland on July 20th, 1975. Upon listening to Driftin’, one may appreciate the extraordinary harmonic colors Evans creates on the piano, thanks in part to the underlying musical substance of Haerle’s composition.
